Some 2,500 employees of Nova Poshta are at front now – Klimov

KYIV. Nov 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – There are now 2,500 employees of Nova Poshta at the front, said Vyacheslav Klimov, founder and co-owner of Nova Poshta.

"The main focus is our employees who are fighting. Some 2,500 Nova Poshta employees are at the front now. We are trying to do as much as possible for these people, starting from material assistance and ending with warm clothes," Klimov said at the Kyiv International Economic Forum on Thursday.

He also assessed as a mistake the rapid reduction of the network and personnel in the first months of the war.

"These were the hardest decisions we made back then. We didn’t fire anyone, but we were forced to suspend operations in many branches where there was no turnover or customers at that time. Later we assessed it as a mistake, we shrank more than necessary. In general, we returned very quickly. And after three or four months, the network took on a ‘pre-war’ look," Klimov said.

Nova Poshta is the largest participant in the Ukrainian logistics market: its network includes 10,000 branches and 13,000 parcel terminals throughout Ukraine. The number of shipments for 2021 exceeded 372 million. In addition, the nonbank financial institution NovaPay provides services for money transfers and electronic money transactions. In 2021, 388 million transactions were carried out.

The group also includes Nova Poshta Global, which is developing an international partner network to provide customers with express delivery services not only in Ukraine, but also abroad. The company operates regular flights to the United States, Europe, China, and delivered 9.3 million international shipments in 2021.
