Some 64 AFU soldiers, US citizen returning home within another prisoner exchange

KYIV. Dec 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As part of another exchange of prisoners, 64 soldiers of the Armed Forces who fought in Donetsk and Luhansk directions, as well as a U.S. citizen who helped the Ukrainians, are returning home, Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak has said.

As he said in the Telegram channel, the bodies of four dead were also returned.

"Another exchange of prisoners. We continue to return our own. Some 64 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who fought in Donetsk and Luhansk directions, including those who participated in the defense of Bakhmut, are going home. These are officers, privates and sergeants, our heroes," Yermak said.

According to him, a U.S. citizen "who helped our people – Suedi Murekezi " was also released.

"I thank the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. I am grateful to the whole team, but there is still a lot of work ahead. We are working," Yermak said.
