By KYIV. Nov 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk believes that Russian ideologists of the war against Ukraine and war crimes will eventually be sentenced to life imprisonment, as happened to those responsible for the downing of flight MH17 in 2014.
"The court in The Hague confirmed that flight MH17 was shot down by a Russian Buk missile … Even now (eight years later), but we have heard a fair decision …," Stefanchuk wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
He stressed that those who insist on the need to create a special international tribunal to punish Russia for the crime of aggression against Ukraine also want justice.
"And I believe that there will be a Special tribunal! And not only the perpetrators, but also the ideologists of war and war crimes will be in the dock! And there will be sentences as today’s life sentences," the speaker of the parliament noted.
