Stefanchuk, Nauseda speak in favor of joining efforts to create Special Tribunal for Russia

KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda discussed the creation of a Special Tribunal for Russia and its exclusion from international organizations.

"Today, the Holodomor is becoming next to the pest by cold, because Putin uses the methods of Stalin of 90 years old. And this gives us even more arguments for punishing Russia for its brutal aggression. It is very important that a special tribunal be created to punish these crimes. Lithuania will also work on this. I am sure that we will be able to do this together," Nauseda said at a meeting with Stefanchuk in Vilnius.

Ad the press service of the Verkhovna Rada office said on Wednesday, Nauseda assured Stefanchuk of the continued support of Ukraine by the Lithuanian people and expressed confidence that the aggressor would be justly punished for all war crimes.

The meeting also raised the issue of Lithuania’s support for Ukraine’s demands to exclude Russia from all international organizations.

"The principle of ‘they are not there’ should be implemented at the level of the UN, the UN Security Council, the OSCE and other organizations in which Russia is still a member. This terrorist country, which ignores international norms and international law, should be deprived of the right to participate in all international institutions," Stefanchuk said.
