Sunak, Trudeau hold talk with Zelensky, assure of Ukraine's support, inform about discussions at G20

KYIV. Nov 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who are in Indonesia for the G20 summit, jointly held a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to confirm the support of the Ukrainian people in the face of the ongoing aggression of the Russian Federation.

Sunak and Trudeau expressed their condolences for the terrible loss of life as a result of Russian attacks on Ukraine overnight, the British government said on its website.

“They underscored their enduring support for Ukraine’s resistance and updated President Zelenskyy on their discussions at the G20 on this issue,” the messagre reads.

The Prime Ministers emphasised the importance of a full investigation into the circumstances behind missiles falling in Poland yesterday.

“They stressed that, whatever the outcome of that investigation, Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is squarely to blame for the ongoing violence,” the message says.

In his turn, President Zelensky thanked the Prime Ministers for their support.
