Three ships to deliver Ukrainian food to China, Spain

KYIV. Jan 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Three dry cargo ships with corn and soybeans left the Ukrainian ports on Thursday, the Joint Coordinating Center (JCC) has said.

"On January 5, three ships left Ukrainian ports, they are carrying a total of 156,745 tonnes of grain and other food as part of the Black Sea Grain Initiative," the center said in the statement.

Two dry cargo ships Maha Tanaya (69,145 tonnes of corn) and Star Galaxy (66,500 tonnes of corn) are heading to China. The vessel Saadet C is carrying 22,100 tonnes of soybeans to Spain.

Six dry cargo ships, which passed through the humanitarian corridor on January 5, are also heading to the ports.

The JCC said "75 applications were submitted to participate in the initiative."

"As of January 5, the total tonnage of grain and other agricultural products exported from three Ukrainian ports is 16,787 tonnes. In total, 1,245 ships have been allowed to move at the moment: 619 for arrival in Ukrainian ports and 626 for leaving them," the JCC said.
