Two killed, five hospitalized due to enemy fire in Kherson region since Dec 18

KYIV. Dec 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On December 18, a local resident was killed by enemy fire in Beryslavsky district of Kherson region, on the morning of December 19, another person was killed in the center of Kherson, five more were hospitalized, the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) has said.

"The city of Kherson, suburban settlements and Beryslavsky district remain under massive fire from military personnel from Russia. As a result of shelling in one of the settlements of Beryslav region on December 18, a local resident was killed. On the morning of December 19, a man died in the center of Kherson," the Prosecutor General’s Office said in a statement on Monday.

According to the prosecutor’s office, five civilians were hospitalized in less than two days.

Also, as they say in the message, residential buildings, administrative buildings, vehicles and critical infrastructure were damaged. According to preliminary data, the enemy attacked the territories with multiple rocket launchers and S-300 missiles.

Under the procedural leadership of the Kherson regional prosecutor’s office, a pretrial investigation was launched in criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (parts 1, 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

As reported on Sunday, the Russian invaders opened fire on the territory of Kherson region 54 times from artillery, MLRS, mortars, tanks and sniper rifles, as a result of which three people died in the region, six more were injured of varying severity, head of Kherson Regional Military Administration Yaroslav Yanushevych said.

"Russian invaders fired on the territory of the Kherson region 54 times. The peaceful settlements of the region were attacked by artillery, MLRS, mortars, tanks and sniper fire," Yanushevych said in Telegram on Sunday.

According to him, the enemy once again fired at the residential areas of Kherson, there is a hit in a medical facility, private and apartment buildings.
