KYIV. Dec 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Order No. 285 on the batch adoption of CEN-CENELEC European regulatory documents in Ukraine was signed by head of the national standardization body Oleh Shvydky, the press service of the Ministry of Economy reports on Thursday.

"The adoption and implementation of European standards in the Ukrainian economy will allow faster ratification of the ACAA Agreement, will open up new opportunities and prospects for Ukrainian business," the report says.

According to the press service, the national standardization body of Ukraine, with the support of the Ministry of Economy, worked with European experts from CEN-CENELEC to update the base of European standards and study the legal framework, which ensured the possibility of batch adoption of European standards in Ukraine as national ones.

The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) together form the European system of technical standardization. The standards agreed by these agencies are regularly adopted in many countries outside of Europe that follow European technical standards.
