Ukraine attracts more than $31 bln from int partners since Feb 24 – PM

KYIV. Dec 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Since February 24, 2022, Ukraine has attracted more than $31 billion from international partners, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said at the last regular government meeting of the current year on Friday.

"This year, we have said more than once that armies win battles, and economies win wars. We managed to maintain stability in the financial, banking and economic spheres. We managed to finance all key budget expenditures," he said.

"We did not delay payment of pensions, salaries of doctors or teachers. Every week we have been and are conducting ongoing negotiations to mobilize more support for Ukraine. Over these 10 months, we have already attracted more than $31 billion from our partners," Shmyhal said. The prime minister added that next year the authorities also understand how they will finance the budget and restoration.

"Another step in support of healthy public finances was a successful debt policy. Negotiations conducted by the government and the Ministry of Finance ended with all external debt payments being deferred for two years. About UAH 200 billion were raised from the sale of war bonds. International support became very important," he said.

At the same time, Shmyhal said that two thirds of all funds that Ukraine received in the budget are an internal resource – the payment of taxes, duties, the purchase of bonds.
