Ukraine counts on Brazil's support in matters of security and economic cooperation – Minister of Economy

KYIV. Jan 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko has presented the Ukrainian Formula of Peace and opportunities for economic cooperation between Ukraine and Brazil to newly elected President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine on Sunday, the parties discussed President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Peace Formula during Svyrydenko’s working visit to Brazil.

The meeting took place on the eve of the inauguration ceremony of Lula da Silva.

"On behalf of Ukraine, let me congratulate you on your victory in the presidential elections in Brazil. Ukraine looks forward to active cooperation with Brazil and the strengthening of strategic partnership to ensure democracy, peace and security," the First Deputy Prime Minister said.

"We are sincerely grateful to the Federative Republic of Brazil for its support at this dramatic time for Ukraine," Svyrydenko said.

Svyrydenko expressed hope that Brazil will support the proposed Peace Formula, which will be a significant contribution to achieving peace in Ukraine and around the world.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the strengthening of economic cooperation between the countries, Brazil’s participation in the restoration of Ukraine.

The inauguration ceremony of the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil was on January 1, 2022 at 20:00 Kyiv time.

Lula da Silva was elected President of the Federative Republic of Brazil in the national elections on October 30, 2022.
