Ukraine gets EUR 200 mln grant aid from Germany to support IDPs

KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The state budget of Ukraine has received a grant in the amount of EUR 200 million from the Reconstruction Credit Institute (KfW), the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has reported.

"These grant funds were provided by the German government within the framework of the Program for Maintaining the Stability of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Ukraine. The funds will be used to cover the expenses of the general fund of the state budget for the payment of housing allowance for IDPs," the message says.

It is noted that the program to support the sustainability of IDPs in Ukraine, which is funded by KfW, is aimed at mitigating the negative impact on the living conditions of IDPs during the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. The purpose of the program is to strengthen the ability of the Government of Ukraine to provide adequate support to IDPs, whose official number has grown significantly since the beginning of the war.
