KYIV. May 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – To support migrants, veterans and entrepreneurs affected by the war, the E-Export Intensive program is being opened on the basis of the Ukrposhta Export school project, the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine reported.
The program will be implemented with the support of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the USAID Competitive Economy Program (CEP) in Ukraine, the Diia.Business project, the Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office, Payoneer and Disqover Agency.
“Support for the entrepreneurship development is one of the priority areas for the government, especially now, during the war. Last year, eRobota grant programs were launched, under which entrepreneurs can receive financial support from the state to start new businesses or expand existing ones. Thanks to these programs, dozens of new enterprises, existing companies have increased production and opened new directions, several thousand Ukrainians have received new jobs at these enterprises. This year we launched new grant programs for veterans to help them integrate into entrepreneurship and quickly adapt to civilian life after returning from the front,” Deputy Economy Minister Tetiana Berezhna said.
The goal of the program is to attract about 1,000 new potential exporters to the export through Internet trading platforms within two months. The program is designed both for entrepreneurs who are forced to restart their business because of the war, and for migrants and veterans who have not run a business before but would like to start their own business.
In addition, within the framework of the program, the Ministry of Economy will provide grants for veterans and the second spouse to develop or create their own business. As part of the initiative, it is planned to provide grants from UAH 250,000 to UAH 1 million.
The USAID CEP also provides grant opportunities for small- and medium-sized enterprises, in particular, grants to support recovery and business continuity, grants for women’s and family enterprises.
The program starts on May 18, 2023. A series of practical webinars will also be held in June and July, during which one will be able to get acquainted with all aspects of working in the e-commerce segment and, in particular, export, as well as gain practical skills to increase sales through effective promotional activities. One can join the seminars online by pre-registering on the Ukrposhta website. Participation is free.
“E-Export Intensive is designed, first of all, to open all the possibilities and prospects for internally displaced persons, war veterans, startup entrepreneurs who want to start their own business and open a store in the shortest possible time, make the first sales on platforms such as eBay, Etsy, Amazon, and Shopify,” the Ministry of Economy said.
