Ukraine needs more counter-battery weapons and long-range shells to prevent shelling of peaceful cities – Reznikov

KYIV. Dec 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian army needs more heavy weapons, including long-range ones, to protect cities from shelling by Russian terrorists, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has said.

"Barbaric shelling of Kherson by Russian terrorists is not only another war crime, but also revenge on its residents who resisted the occupation and proved to the whole world that Kherson is Ukraine. Ukraine will be able to prevent such tragedies if it has more means of counter-battery warfare, more artillery and more long-range ammunition. Thus, Russian murderers will be punished and driven out from Ukraine," Reznikov wrote on Twitter.

As reported, as a result of the shelling in Kherson, 66 cars caught fire. It is known about seven dead and 58 wounded civilians.
