Ukraine presents Delta battlefield situational awareness program at NATO

KYIV. Oct 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Officers of the Center for Innovation and Development of Defense Technologies of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, together with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov have presented the Ukrainian situational awareness program Delta, which provides the military with various data on the enemy and coordination of forces on the battlefield.

The presentation took place at the NATO Tide Sprint closed event.

According to the developers, the Delta program provides a three-dimensional understanding of the battlefield in real time, integrates information about the enemy from various sensors and sources (including intelligence) on a digital map, does not require additional settings and can work on any device (laptop, tablet smartphone).

"Starting in 2017, we have participated in the Tide Hackaton, Tide Sprint and CWIX (Coalition Warrior Interoperability Exercise) – the best incubators of innovation and technology that we are now trying to implement as part of our national Delta system, helping us win the war with Russia," one of the developers of the program, Artem Martynenko, from the Center for Innovation and Development of Defense Technologies of the Ministry of Defense, was quoted as saying.

The Delta cloud platform and services are built according to NATO standards, so the system is compatible with similar solutions used by the armies of the alliance member countries.

"Delta is a great example of how Ukraine and NATO can cooperate, develop together and reap mutual benefits. Ukraine is committed to becoming an integral part of the organization. Our army is already implementing new NATO standards. But more importantly, we are in the process of testing and implementing new standards for NATO. Ukraine is the best training ground, because we can test all hypotheses in combat and introduce revolutionary changes in military equipment and modern warfare," Fedorov said at Tide Sprint.

Delta is a system for collecting, processing and displaying information about enemy forces, coordinating defense forces, and providing situational awareness according to NATO standards. It is developed by the Center for Innovation and Development of Defense Technologies of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
