Ukraine receives nine special vehicles from Finnish govt – Emergency Service

KYIV. Oct 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian side received from the Finnish government nine vehicles as humanitarian cargo, including four ambulances, three fire trucks, one tanker truck and one car lift; some of the equipment will be received by units of the State Emergency Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine said on its website.

“More than once, Ukrainian rescuers have received technical assistance from friendly Finland. This is exactly the technology and equipment we need to work in war conditions. We are infinitely proud of such European friends and once again express our gratitude to our Finnish partners for their support of Ukraine,” acting head of the State Emergency Service Volodymyr Demchuk said during the ceremony of handing over humanitarian cargo on Monday.

The event was also attended by Minister of Internal Affairs of Finland Mari Rantanen, Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland Olha Dibrova, and Director General of Rescue Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Finland Kimmo Kohvakka.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ukrainian rescuers previously received from Finland armored shelter containers to protect personnel, vehicles, rescue equipment, and protective clothing. In addition, Finland actively participated in the modernization of the hydrometeorological capabilities of the State Emergency Service.
