KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On the Day of the Armed Forces, Ukraine returned 60 of its servicemen from Russian captivity, head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak has said.

"Another successful prisoner exchange. Symbolic. On the Day of the AFU, 60 soldiers of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, and the State Border Guard Service are returning home – 58 men and two women," Yermak wrote on Telegram.

There are 15 officers and 45 privates and sergeants among them.

"This is the best news on the day of the holiday, because the heroes should be alive. For this, among other things, our Armed Forces are fighting – the battle for life continues," he noted and added that the relatives of those released from captivity are already waiting at home.

Ukraine, according to Yermak, continues to return the defenders of Mariupol. So, there are 34 of them in today’s ‘list of 60,’ including 14 from Azovstal. Among them are the wounded, who will receive all the necessary assistance, and those whom the Russians held in a colony in Olenivka in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region.
