KYIV. Dec 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Acting Minister of Youth and Sports Matviy Bidny says that Ukraine will decide later on the participation of Ukrainian athletes in the Olympic Games in Paris (France).
“Today, the eyes of the whole world are directed at Ukraine, everyone is waiting for what Ukraine’s decision will be. The entire sports community understands that this decision will be made with a cool head and solely in the interests of our country,” he said on the air of the national telethon on Thursday.
According to Bidny, Ukraine will continue to fight for the elimination of Russian and Belarusian athletes from the international sports movement.
“We will continue to fight further, and make a decision later,” the head of the ministry stressed.
In his opinion, the boycott is a very simple solution that lies on the surface, but Ukraine will try to do everything to ensure that the country is represented at the Olympics.
