Ukraine's MFA along with Center for Civil Liberties, announce Captured campaign in support of Ukrainians held captive by Russia

KYIV. Dec 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has announced the launch of an information campaign Captured abroad, which will be dedicated to the Ukrainian military and civilians in captivity, the MFA press service said.

"Protection of the rights of Ukrainians and Ukrainian women is constantly at the center of the work of the government and the Foreign Ministry. We are making every effort to return our prisoners of war, civilian and political prisoners. I am sure that the Captured campaign will become the voice of all those whom Russia keeps in its dungeons and prisons. I believe that the greater involvement of our foreign partners on this track will help speed up the exchange of prisoners and save the lives of our people," Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova said.

The goal of the campaign is to enlist the support of civil society and governments of other countries in order to act as a united front in defense of Ukrainian prisoners. As part of the campaign, an online platform will be created with the stories of prisoners and information about Russia’s violation of fundamental norms and principles of international humanitarian law and the rules of war.

The project brought together the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, civil society and families of prisoners. One of the co-organizers of the project is the human rights organization Center for Civil Liberties, which won the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize.

The creative team of Saatchi & Saatchi Ukraine is engaged in the development and visual design of the campaign.
