Ukraine's successes at frontline depend on speed of weapons provision to us – Stefanchuk

KYIV. Nov 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine’s successes at the front in the war with Russia depend on the speed of delivery, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk has said.

“The first issue we raised was defense support for Ukraine. I am grateful to Belgium for extending military assistance and joining the F-16 coalition. We need fighters. The speed of movement… of the Ukrainian Armed Forces depends on the speed of providing weapons,” Stefanchuk said on Facebook by results of a meeting with President of the House of Representatives Éliane Tillieux and President of the Senate Stephanie D’Hose in Brussels on Wednesday.

According to Stefanchuk, at a meeting with the leadership of the two chambers of the Belgian Parliament, he said Ukraine is committed to further reforms and in the near future is ready to complete the implementation of the legislative steps identified in the European Commission report. “As for Ukraine’s path to NATO, he emphasized that we are preparing for the Summit in Washington, where we expect to receive an invitation to join the Alliance,” the Ukrainian parliament’s chairman said.

He also said the parties discussed the issues of increasing sanctions pressure on Russia and the return to Ukraine of Ukrainian children deported by the occupiers.
