Ukrainian Asset Seizure Group sends inquiries to U.S. colleagues on specific individuals involved in crimes

KYIV. Jan 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A working group of TaskForce Ukraine (Ukrainian Interagency Group for Search, Seizure and Confiscation of Assets) and KleptoCapture of the U.S. Department of Justice will exchange lists of persons with potentially criminal assets, the Prosecutor’s General Office reports.

The message of the Prosecutor’s General Office on the Telegram channel on Wednesday states that the TaskForce Ukraine working group held an online meeting with American colleagues from KleptoCapture of the U.S. Department of Justice David Lim, Andrew Adams and Michael Chu.

"During the meeting, we discussed the practical aspects of cooperation and legislative features of the United States on the confiscation of Russian criminal assets," the report says.

"We maintain a constant open dialogue with international partners and colleagues from other countries. After all, it is important for us to use all available tools and mechanisms to achieve the ultimate goal – the confiscation of the assets of Russian oligarchs in favor of Ukraine," the message says, referring to the first deputy head of Task Force Ukraine, Advisor to the President’s Office of Ukraine Vladyslav Vlasiuk.

The Prosecutor General’s Office emphasizes that the Ukrainian and American TaskForce groups will exchange lists of the highest priority individuals with potentially criminal assets and against who there are criminal proceedings with a real judicial perspective.
