Ukrainian Defense minister invites U.S. Department of Defense Inspector General to visit Kyiv

KYIV. Dec 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, during a working trip to the United States, met with Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Defense Robert P. Storch, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reported on its Telegram channel.

Among the powers of the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General is control over the use of assistance provided to Ukraine.

“Today, there are already two representatives working in Ukraine on a regular basis. My priority is the fight against corruption, and I am personally interested in deepening cooperation with the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General to build an effective system for monitoring and preventing crime and violations. Such work has already begun,” Umerov said.

He also invited the Inspector General to visit Kyiv, the ministry said.
