Ukrainian Foreign Ministry responded to Qatar's call for peaceful settlement of Russian-Ukrainian 'crisis'

KYIV. May 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleh Nikolenko commented on the Qatari Foreign Ministry’s call for a settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian “crisis” through dialogue and the warning that such actions as a drone explosion over the Kremlin could lead to an escalation.

“I wonder if anyone can find the Qatari Foreign Ministry’s statement condemning the latest Russian missile attack on Kherson that killed 21 civilians and wounded 48 more. Does this act of state terrorism have a less dangerous impact on efforts to resolve the ‘crisis’ peacefully?” Nikolenko said on Twitter.

Earlier, the Qatari Foreign Ministry “again called for the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis through dialogue and diplomacy, for the settlement of international disputes by peaceful means, and not for actions that would lead to further escalation.” The statement said that “escalatory measures such as the recent shelling of the Kremlin building in Russian capital Moscow will lead to an escalation of violence, as well as to the prolongation and expansion of the crisis.”
