Ukrainian govt plans to launch comprehensive, accessible English language program

KYIV. Nov 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers plans to launch a comprehensive and accessible program for learning English, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said.

“Open (program) for everyone, regardless of financial situation or place of residence. With an individual approach and open access to educational resources,” Shmyhal wrote on the Telegram channel following the presentation of a national program to popularize the English language in Ukraine.

According to him, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already submitted to parliament a bill officially establishing the status of English as the language of international communication in Ukraine.

“Already, Ukrainians who speak English have advantages in the labor market. These are higher salaries, more career opportunities, the ability to develop faster and, if necessary, get a new profession,” he added.

Shmyhal emphasized that Ukrainians create competitive products and services, and the English language will be the engine of their promotion and the key to self-realization for thousands of people.
