Ukrainian govt provides for creation of topographic maps for Ukrainian Armed Forces according to NATO standards

KYIV. Nov 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has provided for the creation of topographic maps for the Armed Forces and other military formations according to NATO standards.

As representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk said on Telegram on Friday, the corresponding decision was made at a government meeting on Tuesday.

In particular, changes have been made to the procedure for nationwide topographic and thematic mapping.

It is stipulated that for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations created in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, topographic maps are created in the WGS-84 world geodetic system and in the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM), which are used by the armed forces of NATO countries.
