Ukrainian power system to be restored within hours, not days – Kyrylo Tymoshenko

KYIV. Nov 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian power system will be restored after a Russian missile attack on Wednesday in hours, not days or months, Deputy Head of the President’s Office Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko has said at the United News telethon on Wednesday.

"The task of restoring power is in hours, not in days, two, three, four or five … We are not talking about weeks, months, we are just talking about hours," he said.

According to Tymoshenko, at the first stage, the main task for power engineers is to restore the integral operation of Ukraine’s power system.

"Now this is the main task and I think that our power engineers will cope with this task and there is an understanding that we will be able to restore the power system," the deputy head of the President’s Office noted.

At the same time, he refrained from naming specific terms for the restoration of certain energy infrastructure facilities.

"I would not like to talk about the timing for each specific location. I think that the very first thing is the unification into a single power system. As soon as this is done, the power supply of cities, towns and villages will immediately start," Tymoshenko stressed.
