Ukrgazvydobuvannia to provide advice to suppliers of workover rigs as part of upcoming procurement using EBRD loan

KYIV. March 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia invites manufacturers and suppliers of workover rigs to participate in an online roundtable event on March 9, organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) together with the company.

“As part of the event, market consultations will be held with potential suppliers and manufacturers of equipment to determine the optimal strategies for the purchase and sale,” Ukrgazvydobuvannia reported on its website.

The event aims at testing the market’s risk appetite amid the current situation in Ukraine and providing an opportunity for companies interested in cooperation to ask questions to the equipment customer, the company said.

As reported, in January 2023, Ukrgazvydobuvannia announced the start of the procurement procedure for new workover rigs under agreements signed in 2020 between the Naftogaz group, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, and the EBRD.

The tender provides for procuring five rigs with a workover capacity of 125 tonnes and another five with a workover capacity of 180 tonnes for work at depths of more than 5 km.

Ukrgazvydobuvannia published an announcement for procuring the rigs on January 9 on the ECEPP e-procurement platform, the official tender platform of the EBRD.

The procurement procedure takes place under the EBRD Procurement Policies and Rules. Tender proposals are accepted on the ECERR platform until 14:00 (London time) on March 10, 2023.

According to the loan agreement concluded in 2020, the EBRD will provide EUR 51.85 million to upgrade the fleet of Ukrgazvydobuvannia workover rigs, as well as to introduce energy-efficient technology at one of the company’s fields.

The loan is provided in two tranches: EUR 36.4 million and EUR 15.45 million. The maturity of the first tranche is nine years, and the second is 15 years. The floating interest rate is six-month EURIBOR + 1% per annum.
