KYIV. Nov 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umerov has commended on the introduction of a new Commander of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“I believe the reasons for such a step are obvious to everyone who fights in the ranks of the Ukrainian defense forces and everyone who helps. The relevant issues have been discussed many times. The time has come to solve the problems of medical support for our soldiers,” he said on Facebook on Sunday, November 19.
The minister listed the necessary steps to eliminate the problems.
“1. Maximum digitalization of processes and compliance with all standards of medical support, including the supply of high-quality medical devices and medical equipment. Problems such as low-quality turnstiles simply should not exist in principle.
2. Development of a tactical medicine training system in line with NATO standards with appropriate resource support. The introduction of all medical practices necessary for the front, which will save as many lives of our soldiers as possible.
3. Ensuring constant rotation of personnel between the tactical and strategic levels to ensure the acquisition and transfer of experience throughout the entire cycle of treatment of the wounded, injured and sick,” the minister said.
