By KYIV. Nov 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III, who arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit, discussed counteroffensive operations and long-term support with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
“Good to meet with my counterpart Rustem Umerov in Kyiv to discuss Ukraine’s counteroffensive operations and future force requirements. We stand with the people of Ukraine today—and for the long haul,” Austin said on X (Twitter) on Monday.
