USA allocates $3 bln military aid package to Ukraine – White House

KYIV. Jan 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The United States is providing Ukraine with a military aid package worth more than $3 billion, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has said on Friday.

During a press briefing, Jean-Pierre said the United States is allocating more than $3 billion in military assistance to Ukraine.

According to Jean-Pierre, the largest aid package for Ukraine will include 50 Bradley unified tracked platforms, some 100 M113 armored personnel carriers, some 55 wheeled armored vehicles with enhanced mine protection MRAP, some 138 HMMWV army cargo vans, 18 155-millimeter self-propelled howitzers and 36 105-mm towed howitzers. The list includes RIM-7 anti-aircraft missiles, additional ammunition for the HIMARS MLRS (the number is not specified).

The full list of the U.S. military aid package was published by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken: 50 Bradley fighting vehicles with 500 TOW anti-tank missiles and 250,000 rounds of 25-mm calibre; some 100 M113 armored personnel carriers; some 55 MRAPs; some 138 HMMWV; some 18 155mm self-propelled howitzers and 18 ammunition support vehicles; some 70,000 155 mm artillery shells; some 500 155mm Excalibur rounds; some 1,200 155-mm shells of remote anti-armor mine systems (RAAM); some 36 105-mm towed howitzers and some 95,000 105-mm artillery shells; some 10,000 120-mm mortar shells; HIMARS ammunition; RIM-7 missiles for air defense; some 4,000 Zuni aircraft missiles; about 2,000 anti-tank missiles and sniper rifles machine guns and ammo.
