KYIV. Nov 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The United States is focused on helping Ukraine in its confrontation with Russian aggression, despite the ongoing events in the Middle East related to Israel’s response to Hamas terrorist attacks, Deputy Chairman of the U.S. State Department Vedant Patel said.
“We continue to be able to keep focused on the varying challenges that exist around the planet. That of course also includes Russia’s ongoing assault on Ukraine,” Patel said.
The deputy representative noted that last week the United States allocated assistance to Ukraine in the war.
“It was just a number of weeks ago, I think even last week or the week before – where we announced yet another tranche of security assistance for our Ukrainian partners, and this is something that we’ll continue to be focused on,” the official said.
Patel noted that the United States is helping both Ukraine and Israel.
“In President Biden’s Oval Office address, he talked about the importance of not just, of course, ensuring that Israel has what it needs to defend its security, but also that our Ukrainian partners continue the support that they have been getting so that they can continue to defend themselves against the infringement on their territorial integrity and sovereignty,” Patel summed up.
