USA does not provide Ukraine with weapons to strike on Russian territory – State Department

KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The United States did not provide Ukraine with such weapons that would allow it to strike at Russian territory, and also did not encourage Kyiv to resort to such actions, the European Pravda (Truth) publication said, citing U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price.

"We are not enabling Ukraine to strike beyond its borders; we are not encouraging Ukraine to strike beyond its borders. Everything we are doing – everything the world is doing to support Ukraine – is in support of Ukraine’s independence. We are providing Ukraine with what it needs to use on its sovereign territory – on Ukrainian soil – to take on Russian aggressors," Price said during a briefing on Tuesday.

According to him, the United States provided Ukraine with only the defense weapons it needs to protect its own territory.

The State Department spokesman said from the beginning, and even before Russia’s illegal, perfidious invasion of Ukraine on February 24, the United States provided Ukraine with exactly what it needs to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
