USA plans to expand Ukrainian military training program – media

KYIV. Dec 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The U.S. authorities are considering the possibility of expanding the training of Ukrainian military personnel, CNN said, citing informed sources.

According to the program under consideration, the United States plans to train a larger number of Ukrainian military personnel, up to 2,500 per month. In addition, they will be taught more complex combat tactics, including coordinating infantry maneuvers with artillery support.

According to one of the sources, the program involves " much more intense and comprehensive” training than Ukraine has been receiving in Poland or the UK."

It is noted that at the moment the proposal is still under interagency review by the U.S. administration.

If approved, the new training regime will take place at the U.S. Army base in Grafenwöhr, Germany.
