ODESA. Sept 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The service center Veteran Hub has been established in Odesa, the opening of its front office is scheduled for the Veteran’s Day, which is celebrated annually on October 1, Odesa City Council said on its website on Monday.
“This is a space for the Ukrainian military, where they will be able to receive a full range of social services, legal protection, as well as consultations and advice from specialists on treatment, rehabilitation, psychological assistance, employment, starting their own business. Among the issues, which, in particular, will be dealt with by the Veteran Hub, is assistance to the families of fallen defenders, as well as military personnel who have been disabled due to the war,” the report says.
According to the Department of Labor and Social Policy of the City Council, now 332 family members of the killed defenders of Ukraine live in Odesa, including 144 children, as well as 81 people who were disabled due to injury, contusion, injury or illness received during the military operations of the Russian Federation. Monthly or lump-sum cash payments are provided for certain categories of persons.
In particular, 36 people with disabilities received as a result of the war, 109 families of deceased military personnel, 57 children from families of deceased military personnel and 11 children whose parents became disabled as a result of the war are already receiving assistance. Also, assistance was assigned to one mother of the deceased Hero of Ukraine.
