KYIV. Oct 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the state is interested in returning all Ukrainians who left the country because of the war home after the victory.
As the head of state noted, during the war it is very difficult to keep the economy in any format of stability because it is very important that Ukrainians stay and work in the country.
At the same time, according to him, it is difficult to guarantee the safety of people during their stay in the country now.
"We are very interested in the Ukrainian people returning home. Today I cannot ask the citizens of Ukraine who temporarily left the borders of our state because of the war to return. I think it’s their choice today. And I cannot guarantee everyone’s security today, because this is a war that was unilaterally unleashed by the Russian Federation and exclusively on the territory of our state," Zelensky said at a briefing with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala in Kyiv.
Zelensky expressed confidence that after the end of the war, Ukrainians will return to their homeland, but the key issues will remain: infrastructure, energy, etc.
"I am sure that everyone will return. It’s not that simple, but we are holding on and are interested in having the entire population in the state after the victory. I am sure that it will be so," he said.
