Work on improving mechanism of registration, control over targeted use of humanitarian aid continues – Shmyhal in response to petition

KYIV. Nov 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, in response to the petition, states that work on improving the mechanism for receiving, providing, processing, distributing and monitoring the targeted use of humanitarian aid continues.

“It should be noted that the work on improving the mechanism for receiving, providing, processing, distributing and controlling the targeted use of humanitarian aid continues,” says Shmyhal’s response to the petition.

According to him, today the Ministry of Social Policy is preparing amendments to the government decree “Some issues of the organization of the automated system of registration of humanitarian aid” in order to improve the automated system of accounting for humanitarian aid.

“Taking into account the public interest in the issues raised in the electronic petition, the Ministry of Social Policy has been instructed to create a working group with the participation of representatives of the public and central executive authorities to work out appropriate amendments to the legislation,” the prime minister summed up.

As reported, on October 19, a petition on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers calling for postponing for six months the entry into force of the government decree on certain issues of admission and registration of humanitarian aid under martial law gained the necessary number of votes for consideration.

In September, the Ministry of Social Policy announced a change in the rules for the import and registration of humanitarian aid from December 1. In particular, with the help of the web platform “Automated Registration System for Humanitarian Aid”, organizations that are going to import humanitarian aid will be able to register, log in on the website, form and submit a declaration, which will be sent to customs through information exchange.

On October 19, the Ministry of Social Policy reported that the ministry is initiating the creation of a working group to work out changes in approaches to the import and accounting of humanitarian aid.
