By KYIV. Nov 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development Mykhailo Fedorov, who is also the Digital Transformation Minister of Ukraine, has announced the creation of a working group for the construction of fortification structures.
“The group will work around-the-clock as an operational headquarters and coordinate the efforts of all government agencies and the military to build fortification structures. We will be heading it together with Defense Minister Rustem Umerov,” he said on the Telegram channel on Friday.
The working group plans to implement reform for determining the area of responsibility.
“At the first line of defense, the fortification structures are constructed by military units, while at the second and third ones – by the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine through the private contractors hired by it,” Fedorov said.
According to the minister, financing for the construction of fortifications in the hottest directions has already been attracted from Ukrainian businesses.
