By KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, discussed with the U.S. President’s National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan, further support for Ukraine in the humanitarian, security and economic spheres.
"As part of the ongoing dialogue, Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, has had a telephone conversation with the U.S. President’s national Security adviser, Jake Sullivan," the press service of the President’s Office said on Tuesday.
Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhny from the Ukrainian side and Defense Minister Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley from the American side also joined the conversation.
Representatives of Ukraine informed the interlocutors about the current situation at the front and about the measures taken to counter the Russian aggressor.
It is noted that the parties considered the issue of extending support to Ukraine in the humanitarian, security and economic spheres. Separately, they noted the importance of strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure facilities.
Separately, the interlocutors paid attention to achieving a just peace in Ukraine, which would be based on the fundamental principles enshrined in the UN Charter and provided for bringing the aggressor state to justice.
Yermak expressed gratitude to the United States, President Joseph Biden, both chambers of Congress and the entire American society for supporting Ukraine and making an invaluable contribution to the protection of the values of freedom and democracy in Europe and around the world.
