Yermak presents Zelensky's 'peace formula' to G7 ambassadors

KYIV. Dec 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak presented the "peace formula" of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, proposed by him at the G20 summit in November, to the G7 ambassadors, the presidential press service said.

"As the head of the Office of the Head of State noted, the development of such a document is important for overcoming the Russian narrative, which is especially widespread in the countries of Africa, Latin America and Asia, that Russia is supposedly ready for negotiations and ending the war, while Ukraine refuses," the office said.

"The president believes that we need a clear and open peace plan," he said.

According to Yermak, the Ukrainian peace formula is aimed at ending the war and making it impossible to repeat aggression, seize territories, as well as nuclear, food blackmail and damage to the environment.

Ukraine counts on the support of this formula by the G7 countries and invites states to become leaders in the implementation of certain of its points, Yermak said.

In addition, Ukraine will initiate the launch of a diplomatic process to work on the implementation of the formula. "The first practical step could be a meeting of leaders to demonstrate unity in the pursuit of peace," he said.

Yermak also thanked the representatives of the G7 countries for supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression. He said their help is important both for the Ukrainian army resisting the Russian invader, and for the civilian population to survive the winter in the face of Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

In addition, Yermak called for continued cooperation in overcoming the food crisis, in particular, through the implementation of the Zelensky’s Grain from Ukraine initiative.

"The world should know that the United States, Canada, Germany, Japan, France, Great Britain, Italy – we are together. And we are helping people, in particular children, in Africa, Asia, and not in Russia. And this crisis happened because Russia invaded Ukraine," he said.
