KYIV. Nov 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny, together with Chief of the General Staff Serhiy Shaptala, Commander of the Air Forces Mykola Oleschuk and Commander of the Naval Forces Oleksiy Neyizhpapa, held a telephone conversation with Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of the French Republic, Army General Thierry Burkhard, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Tuesday.
Zaluzhny told Burkhard about the operational situation at the front, the course of combat operations, the actions of the enemy and his likely plans.
The interlocutors discussed the importance of continuing the search for technological solutions to gain an advantage over the enemy in the air, remote mine clearance and fire destruction of hostile targets.
They also discussed in detail the issues of strengthening air defense equipment, training of AFU servicemen and restoring the combat capability of units.
Zaluzhny thanked the French partners for their consistent support and assistance to Ukraine in the struggle for freedom and independence.
