KYIV. Nov 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky chaired a meeting dedicated to the results of the first parliamentary summit of the Crimea Platform, which lasted October 24 to 26 in Zagreb (Croatia). It was attended by representatives of the parliaments of 42 countries, as well as the heads of five parliamentary assemblies of international organizations and associations, including the European Parliament.
"The summit participants clearly confirmed that Crimea is Ukraine, and Russia’s attempt to annex it is a gross violation of international law and will never be recognized by the international community. Ukraine’s struggle against Russian aggression is a struggle for democratic values and the entire free democratic world has united in support. Zagreb Summit also sent a clear message: Russia must be held accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Ukraine."
As a result of the summit, a General Declaration was adopted.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the model of reintegration, restoration and development of the Ukrainian Crimea, which should be ready for implementation as soon as the island is liberated from temporary occupation.
It was also decided to hold the third summit of Crimea Platform at the level of heads of state and government in 2023.
