By KYIV. Dec 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky handed over the Command Coin from U.S. President Joe Biden to Ukrainian commander of the HIMARS battery Pavlo Cherniavsky.
"In this hall [of the Verkhovna Rada], there is Captain Pavlo Cherniavsky, commander of the HIMARS battery, who was awarded the Combat Merit Cross and transferred this distinction to U.S. President Biden. It was an honor for me to fulfill this special mission. But it has a second part. President Biden responded by handing over the Command Coin, a special distinction from the President of the United States. Mister Captain! Pavlo! I must give this Command Coin [to you] now," Zelensky said, speaking on Wednesday at the Verkhovna Rada with an address on the foundations of domestic and foreign policy.
He also thanked the President of the United States, both parties of the U.S. Congress, and every American family for their historic support for Ukraine.
