Zelensky on talks with Netanyahu: I believe we can significantly strengthen our states amid threats of war

KYIV. Nov 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, following talks on Monday with the leader of the Likud party elected in Israeli parliamentary elections, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced a potential mutual strengthening of states amid threats of war.

"I just held talks with Benjamin Netanyahu, the leader of the bloc that won the elections in Israel. I greeted him with a victory. We discussed the key aspects of relations between our states. I think everyone understands what Ukraine insists on and what ’emphasis’ on Israel makes security," Zelensky said in an evening video statement.

"I believe that we can significantly strengthen our states, especially since we have related threats," he said.

As reported, parliamentary elections were held in Israel on November 1. These elections were the fifth in the country over the past three years.

The victory was won by 73-year-old former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. His Likud party and its allies won 64 seats out of 120 in the Knesset.
