Zelensky presents awards to Ukrainian military who liberated Kherson region

KYIV. Nov 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has presented state awards to servicemen who distinguished themselves during the liberation of Kherson and the right-bank districts of Kherson region, the presidential press service said on its website on Monday.

"The enemy doesn’t give us anything just like that. We are paying a very high price in this war. Freedom costs us the lives and health of our best people," the President said during a working trip to the liberated part of the Kherson region.

He thanked the soldiers for their courage and dedication in defending Ukraine.

"I congratulate you on the liberation of Kherson. I wish you, your families and children good health. And forward to victory! Glory to Ukraine!" Zelensky said.

The President awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine and awarded the Order of the Golden Star to Sergeant Andriy Orlov, and awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky I degree to the commander of the operational-strategic group of troops Kherson, Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavsky and Major Yuriy Brekhar.

In addition, Captain Mykhailo Fryshnych was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky II degree for personal courage and heroism shown in the defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Twenty-three soldiers received the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree from the president, and 12 defenders – the Order For Courage III degree.
