Zelensky urges to attract foreign companies to Ukraine recovery projects

KYIV. Dec 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Foreign companies that stayed in Ukraine or left Russia should be attracted to Ukraine recovery projects, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

"Recovery of Ukraine after hostilities is another component of justice. It is already clear that it will be the largest economic project of our time in Europe. The volumes of what should be done are obvious to everyone and do not need to be listed separately," the head of state said in an address to the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday.

"It is hard to estimate the number of resources needed. But we can say for sure that we should make the restoration of the companies, which were in Ukraine or came to Ukraine in wartime, a priority. The ones that left the Russian market during the war. This is fair. Those who supported us in the most difficult time, those who stood by us when Ukraine was fighting for its life, those who worked and paid taxes, volunteered and contributed to our invincibility," he said.

According to Zelensky, it is necessary "to find a format of providing such business with more opportunities in recovery projects. Ukrainian business, American, French, Polish – any [business] we can see here and now."

"I am asking you, dear Members of Parliament, together with the government and the Office to elaborate such a legal framework. This will also stimulate international business for entering Ukraine right now," the president said.
