By KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as part of a joint press conference following the Nordic Summit, thanked state leaders for supporting Ukraine and providing military assistance packages.
As he noted, Russia will not break the freedom of the Ukrainian and European peoples as long as these peoples are united
“We defend a way of life that is completely opposite to this system [in Russia], where there is only irrational thinking. And if this system wants, it starts and unleashes wars. We need to make this dictator understand that he must respect us, respect Europe, respect international law, our freedom and the freedom of all states,” Zelenskyy said.
The head of state thanked Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre for his leadership in supporting Ukraine, including defense, financing, and air defense systems.
“This really helps all of us, our families, our people, our children. Thank you for this,” he said.
Zelenskyy also thanked Finnish President Sauli Niinistö for the 21st package of defense assistance for the Ukrainian military, for the production of artillery ammunition, which “is critical not only for our freedom, but also for other European states that have a common border with Russia. And understanding, in what the threat is.”
The President of Ukraine noted the importance of Denmark’s patronage over Mykolaiv region, the opening of a fund to support Ukraine and for its leading role in the air coalition for Ukraine.
Zelenskyy thanked the Prime Minister of Iceland for the decisions taken to support Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Sweden for the 14th defense aid package, the Iris-T and CV 90 infantry fighting vehicles, and for active support at the level of European institutions.
