KYIV. May 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Government of Ukraine is working on the possibility of providing compensation for families who have restored housing on their own, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.
“We have already launched a large eRecovery program. This is financial assistance for the repair of housing that was damaged due to hostilities. Where it is possible to restore houses, we will help with repairs. We are talking about the opportunity to receive up to UAH 200,000 for building materials or ordering repair services,” Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Friday.
The prime minister said that regarding the families who made repairs on their own, the government is working on a solution to provide them with compensation, and the corresponding task has been assigned to the vice prime minister for restoration and relevant departments.
“The next program in the housing sector will be certificates for those whose housing has been completely destroyed and can no longer be repaired. We are working on the details of this project, too,” he said.
