MINSK. March 6 (Interfax) – The Minsk City Court has sentenced former Belarusian presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya to 15 years in prison in absentia.
The court pronounced sentences in a case of members of the Belarusian opposition Coordination Council, including Tikhanovskaya, at a hearing on Monday.
“The Minsk City Court has sentenced Svetlana Tikhanovskaya to 15 years in prison. The court ordered that Tikhanovskaya serve her time at a general security penitentiary,” the state news agency BelTA reported.
