Zaluzhny, Milley discuss situation at front, preparations for de-occupation of Ukrainian territory

KYIV. May 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny has held a phone conversation with Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley within the framework of a regular dialogue with partners.

“I maintain a constant dialogue with the Chairman of the U.S, Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley. During a telephone conversation, I informed him about the situation at the front and preparations for the future steps of our army to de-occupy Ukrainian territory,” Zaluznhy said on the Telegram channel on Saturday.

He thanked American partners for a new package of military assistance to Ukraine, which has been announced by the Pentagon recently.

“We agreed with General Milley to continue our active cooperation. Our goal is Victory of Ukraine,” Zaluzhny said.

As reported, the United States announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine worth $300 million, including HIMARS ammunition, artillery and mortar rounds, antiarmor capabilities, heavy transport equipment and spare parts for field equipment.
